Marilyn Monroe

In the summer of 1953, Marilyn Monroe resided at the Fairmont Banff Springs while filming the Western adventure River of No Return (released in 1954). Her stay marked a memorable moment in the hotel’s storied history. During her time in Banff, Monroe was frequently seen exploring the town, posing along the scenic Bow River, and playing a round at the famed Banff Springs Golf Course.
